Spearheaded by Agriculture More Than Ever, Canada’s Agriculture Day is intended to engage Canadians in positive dialogue about agriculture, and to help consumers understand where their food comes from and connect with the people who produce it.
There can be a disconnect between the farm and the dinner table, but through effective collaboration with our growers and community partners – as well as candid conversations with the public – Agrium is aiming to help bridge this gap and there are a number of ways Canadians can take part in Canada’s Agriculture Day:
- Social media posts: Include hashtags such as #CdnAgDay, #AgMoreThanEver, #RealDirt, #IWorkInAg, #FarmLife or #AgProud in your posts. Also, consider using hashtags like #Foodie, #LoveYourFood or other food-related tags that will reach a non-ag audience.
- Take a personal ag challenge: from wishing five friends a Happy Canada’s Agriculture Day to volunteering at a local food bank or soup kitchen, Agriculture More than Ever provides ideas for all levels of commitment.
- Community initiatives: Create and register your own community event or check out how others in your community will be celebrating Canada’s Ag Day on the official event list.
We invite all Canadians to take part in this conversation and celebration of our food and the agriculture industry – on February 16 and beyond.
