Members of Agrium’s Young Professionals Network (YPN) didn’t hesitate when they were presented the opportunity of volunteering their lunch hour at The Calgary Drop-In & Rehab Centre last month.
Through the United Way of Calgary and Area Day of Caring Projects, the YPN sponsored and served hundreds of hot meals to the Centre’s clients. Working alongside facility staff and other volunteers, YPN representatives were afforded a front-line perspective on the important role volunteering plays in building a healthy community.
As a Top Employer for Young People, Agrium emphasizes the development and engagement of its Young Professionals through many initiatives including:
- Paid internships for co-op students and new grads
- Company supported training/apprenticeships for tradespeople
- Tuition reimbursement for employees interested in further education
Many young professionals are looking for a workplace culture that will allow them to grow, develop and make a difference where they work and in the communities in which they live. Agrium’s YPN strives to provide members with opportunities to do just that.
